Safeguarding at St Margaret's

St Margaret's CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, volunteers  and visitors to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can be viewed below. This comprehensive policy sets out a range of areas in which we create a climate of promoting the welfare of all in our school.

All staff receive regular statutory safeguarding training and adhere to the statutory guidance set out in the DfE's current 'Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019'. As part of this, all staff and volunteers working in the school are aware of their statutory duty to ensure that if there are any concerns relating to the welfare or safety of a child the child protection procedures are followed.

We are committed to safe recruitment and selection procedures to ensure that all staff and volunteers have been appropriately screened prior to appointment.
