Eco-Council

We have another exciting development to announce here at St. Margaret’s in the form of our newly elected Eco-Council. A representative from each of the seven classes met last week to begin in this exciting project towards gaining our Eco-Schools Bronze Award. The next step will be for the pupils to undertake an Environmental Review of our school, looking at 10 key areas including litter, healthy living, waste and many more. From this the Eco-council will decide on three key areas to include on their action plan and will be ready to start planning on how to make a difference to our school’s environmental impact. The Eco-Councillors are: Ned Jacobs, Kai Sanz-Olivieri, Teddy Griffiths, Maisie James, Felix Markiewicz, Siri Dickie and Darcie Silburn.

Forest School

This term saw an exciting new development in our curriculum here at St. Margaret's as we embarked on our Forest School adventure. Lots of preparation and generous funding from the PTA have helped to get this project on the ground and the classes (and Mr Jones!) have really enjoyed connecting with their natural environment through team building activities, stick rhythm sessions, blindfolded tree hugging, winter bulb planting, willow hurdle weaving, autumn leaf identifying, bow saw and palm drill usage to make Forest School medallions and lots more besides!
